Recovery Snatch Ropes
The Explorey TANKA recovery Snatch ropes - built for the most serious of 4WD recoveries. We designed these ropes with the help from military soldiers to get their army trucks out of the deepest swamps. The Tanka is a 3-strand no-frills 100% nylon rope. Delivering an impressive maximum elongation of 37% while expanding a consistent and even stretch through the entire range. This polymer Nylon-66 rope is not only waterproof and UV resistant but will hold up in extreme temperatures. We have made this rope with a protective loop protector with no other covering, on purpose to improve kinetic power, as any protective covering reduces performance. It will resist abrasion, but not as well as our Sailor model. Give your vehicle recovery points a break and let the Tanka take the stress for you.
Our Tanka rope is also the perfect expert kinetic tow rope. Providing an effortless tow with no jolting/jerking at the ideal 6-metre tow length. This is a safe road tow when used correctly with correct and rated tow points. Keep consistently loaded, let the towed vehicle be the brakes and go for gold.
* Ideal for large 4x4s, trucks, UTVs, ATVs, commercial use and vehicle towing
* Water, UV, heat, electrical and abrasion resistance
* High breaking strength
* Made to military standards
* Will last a lifetime when properly cared for
* A safe low-stress recovery rope when used properly
We recommend matching your total vehicle weight to the rope below:
Extreme Tanka 10,000kg rope - vehicle weight 2-3ton
Big Tanka 5,500kg rope - vehicle weight 1-2ton
Junior Tanka 3,300kg - ATV, small SUV, quads up to 1ton
For size guide, take your vehicle weight and multiply by approx. 3-4 times to get your rope size. You can weigh your loaded vehicle at most dump stations.
Explorey TANKA V2
The Explorey TANKA V2 recovery rope is a similar rope to the original Tanka with the added Nylon-66 protector sleeve over the entire rope with a polymer dipped loop end. This protector sleeve allows for significantly more abrasion and stops sand, grit and UV damage getting into the underlying strands, letting you do more of what you do best! The downside is less elongation. The sleeve reduces the stretch of this rope by 17%, giving a large but modest total 30% elongation. More emphasis needs to be on getting the correct sized rope for the weight of your vehicle if you want an even and consistent recovery.
With that said, the TANKA V2 kills it out there! This is the perfect 4x4, heavy truck & agriculture kinetic recovery in bogged down situations for the soldier who hammers his gear. These ropes are heavier, stronger and can move a tank.

We recommend matching your total vehicle weight to the rope below:
Mega Tanka V2 17,400kg rope - vehicle/truck weight 4-5ton
Extreme Tanka V2 11,200kg rope - vehicle/truck weight 3-4ton
Big Tanka V 8600kg - vehicle weight 2-3ton
For size guide, take your vehicle weight and multiply by approx 3 to 4 times to get your rope size. You can weigh your loaded vehicle at most dump stations.
For safety we recommend:
- Using our rated soft-shackles on all kinetic and static rope connection ends
- Using the Infinite Rule hitch lock for a rated tow bar recovery point and safe towing point
- Never attach the rope to an unrated single or double bolted recovery point. Look for a solid chassis multi-bolted point like a bullbar, towbar (never a tow-ball) or solid axle. Use multiple attachments points evenly distributed on highly loaded pulls (double axle/double tow bar/double bull bar connection).
- For added safety on loaded pulls use a line damper and stand clear. If you manage to snap our recovery ropes they will generally fall to the ground with minimal snap. But still, keep your distance. We have never had a reported injury or vehicle damaged from any of our recovery ropes.
